Project plans for Sentinel Commons have been announced today – showing images of what will transform an iconic building on the corner of Marshall and 5th Street in Downtown Winston-Salem.
The Arden Group announced the development of Sentinel Commons at 418 N. Marshall Street in Winston-Salem, NC. Sentinel Commons is a multipurpose project featuring unique office space, opportunities for coworking, access to arts, entertainment, and dining all in one location.
Home to the iconic Winston-Salem Journal and Sentinel newspapers for more than 90 years, the building is a local landmark. The redevelopment project partners the building’s historic architectural features with a crisp, modern transformation that seeks to bring together a variety of intentional uses.
Headquartered in Winston-Salem, the Arden Group develops real estate projects, spanning residential to office, special use, entertainment, and retail. Sentinel Commons is a project that aims to unite businesses, entrepreneurs, and artists with recreation and entertainment venues to create a pronounced common gathering place.
“With the development’s location situated in the arts district and steps away from the city’s most dynamic downtown corridors, we believe that Sentinel Commons will further advance the growth of Downtown Winston-Salem,” says owner, Stuart Parks.
Currently, the Winston-Salem Journal and LAMBERT Architecture + Interiors, designer of Sentinel Commons, are tenants. Later this year, the building will welcome local home builder Arden Communities and commercial real estate developer GEMCAP Development.
The building is comprised of more than 100,000 square feet. Approximately 50,000 square feet will be available for lease and will be brokered by Linville Team Partners. Applications/inquiries are now being accepted.
