We are excited to congratulate the Reynolds American organization, one of Forsyth County’s largest employers, as it expands production and adds jobs at a local facility that manufactures multiple categories of tobacco and nicotine products.
Hundreds of new jobs will be added at the Reynolds Operations Center in Tobaccoville to accommodate for the increased production capacity of smokeless products, advancing the organization’s vision to Build a Smokeless World.
The Tobaccoville facility is the largest manufacturing center in the global BAT (British American Tobacco) Group and has over 2 million square feet of finished floor space. The production capacity expansion is expected to generate jobs in a variety of roles.
“The Reynolds American organization hired for over 500 jobs in 2024, the majority of which were directly related to our expanding smokeless portfolio, and aligning our sales force to be even more competitive in the market. In 2025, we intend to add an additional 300 positions, a combination of local manufacturing and national trade marketing roles,” says Borgia Walker, Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Inclusion within the Reynolds American organization.
This year, the Reynolds American organization is honoring the 150th anniversary of the R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, which was established in the town of Winston in 1875.
“RJR Tobacco Company is a founding institution in Winston-Salem that has had a profound impact on the growth and development of our community over time,” says Mark Owens, President and CEO of Greater Winston-Salem Inc. “We are excited to continue to celebrate expansion and job creation from one of our city’s long-established organizations. As we reflect on the company’s legacy, we simultaneously work in collaboration for future growth and success.”
The Reynolds American organization is actively hiring to fill those new roles. Visit Reynolds American Careers for more information.
