Winston-Salem has ranked for the first time on Livability’s list of Best Places to Live – a national list comprised of the top 100 American cities out of about 1,000 that are considered.
The ranking includes factors like demographics, the economy, health, housing, and education. This year as the world faces the Coronavirus pandemic, Livability added an opportunity score to the ranking system – measuring variables like job numbers, broadband access, economic resilience and growth.
Winston-Salem’s diversity of higher education opportunities, the rich history of its Moravian heritage, and its robust arts scene are featured as a few of the community’s highlights.
This year, Winston-Salem has also ranked as one of the best places for newly remote workers to live and one of the best places to start a small business.
