The Urban League requests the participation of our local, regional and national supporters to the 2017 Whitney M. Young Gala to recognize civil rights pioneers in our community and to acknowledge their remarkable commitment to creating opportunities for underserved communities.
CEO James Perry will offer remarks and present a most prestigious award reflective of the Winston-Salem Urban League’s mission, which is to empower and advocate for African-Americans and other disenfranchised communities, and to promote socio-economic progress and parity through education, training and civic engagement.
The Winston Salem Urban League welcomes the CEO of the Urban League of Greater St. Louis, Michael McMillan as the guest speaker. Michael McMillan has received over 150 awards and was recognized as one of the Ebony Magazine’s Power 100 Most Influential African-Americans in the United States.
The VIP Reception will be held from 6:00pm to 7:00pm with a live performance.
