New Hyatt Place hotel featuring modular construction coming to downtown Winston-Salem

Mayfair Partners plans to use a modular stacked method using cold-formed steel to construct a new Hyatt Place hotel (NYSE: H) on a lot adjacent to the Hotel Indigo it is developing in Winston-Salem’s historic Pepper Building, according to principal Simon Burgess.

Burgess said that modular construction would reduce the construction time from 15 to seven months. He said the stability of modular design was as good or better than in traditionally built structures.
